John and Doris Harrison    

Founders--Hoist-Co, Inc.

John and Doris Harrison     founded Hoist-Co, Inc. in 1979 to provide much needed service to the construction hoists in the power industry.  Progressing later to include the more demanding permanently installed rack and pinion elevators in all industrial applications and environments, they focused strongly on providing quality workmanship and excellent customer service.  John is a veteran of the rack and pinion elevator industry with over 45 years experience.

He began his career as a technician in 1962 with Finch Bayless Equipment where he was responsible for erecting, dismantling and maintaining their rack and pinion elevators and tower cranes.  In 1973 John joined Remco Machinery Co. as Service Manager until 1979.

While Doris continues to oversee the Financial operations of Hoist-Co John remains active in the overall administration and supervision of the Installation department.

John is a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI), a Certified Elevator Technician (CET) and holds Mechanics Licenses in several states across the USA.  He is also an active member of the ANSI A17.1 Parts 4.1 and 5.7 Code Committees.

Kevin Harrison

President--Hoist-Co, Inc.

Kevin Harrison is President of Hoist-Co, Inc. and has over a quarter century of experience in the Rack and Pinion Elevator Industry.  While his career with Hoist-Co began in Service his hands on experience also extends to include Sales and Installations.

As President, Kevin is responsible for setting the company's strategy, direction and long-range planning, as well as the administration and operations of the company.  Kevin is dedicated to fulfilling Hoist-Co's Mission Statement of providing quality products and exceptional customer service.

Kevin is a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI), a Certified Elevator Technician (CET) and holds Elevator and Mechanics Licenses in several states across the USA.  He is also an active member of the ANSI A17.1 Parts 4.1 and 5.7 Code Committees.

Kevin graduated from Emporia State University, Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

Alex McWilliam

Vice President of Operations--Hoist-Co, Inc.

Consultant--Rack & Pinion Elevator Consulting Services, LLC

As Vice President of Operations for Hoist-Co, Inc. Alex McWilliam is responsible for New Product Development, QA/QC, Project Management, Technical / Sales Support, and Technical /Safety Training.  Alex has more than 40 years experience in the Rack and Pinion elevator field and tower crane industry.  He joined Hoist-Co in September 2009.

After completing his 5 year apprenticeship Alex began his career in England as a Self Employed Electrical Sub Contractor, the year was 1969.  In 1974 he joined Linden Alimak, England as a Service Technician.  His reponsibilities included erecting, dismantling and maintaining the company fleet of tower cranes and rack and pinion elevators; also erecting the first rack and pinion permanent units on the North Sea Oil Platforms in the 1970's.  Alex was instrumental in the electrical design of the specialized explosion proof rack and pinion elevators for the Petro Chemical and Aero Space Industries.  At Linden Alimak, England/USA for over 31 years, Alex held a variety of roles; Service Manager, National Installation Manager/Safety Director and QA/QC Manager.  In 2005 he joined Heede Southeast, Inc.  Charlotte, NC as After Sales/Service Manager/Technical Coordinator.  As well as supporting sales/service and coordinating technical issues with the manufacturer in Spain, his responsibilities also included creating and implementing company Electrical/Mechanical and Safety Training Programs.

Alex is a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) and performs Continuing Education Classes for NAESA, State Inspectors, Consultants and Engineers thoughout the USA and Canada.  He holds Business Licenses in several states and is also a Certified Tower Crane Inspector.  Alex completed a 5 year Electrical Apprenticeship Program with British Steel Corporation in England graduating as a Master Electrician in 1969 with a minor in Industrial Electronics. 

Thomas O'Keefe

National Sales Manager--Hoist-Co, Inc.

Tom O'Keefe is the National Sales Manager for Hoist-Co, Inc. and has worked in various capacities with leading elevator manufacturers in this industry for over 32 years.  Tom served his apprenticeship in the elevator business progressing to Mechanic, Service Technician, Sales Representative, Branch Manager, District Manager and Regional Sales Manager.  He joined Hoist-Co in March 2009.

As National Sales Manager for Hoist-Co Tom is responsible for Sales, Marketing, and Development of Rack and Pinion offerings in New Equipment, including development of the Parts/Service and Refurbishment areas of the business.

Tom is a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) and a Certified Elevator Technician (CET).  He has also served as a member of the IUEC and currently holds an inactive member status in good standing.
